Reiki is an “energy therapy” that serves to enhance and produce the
body’s healing capabilities. The Reiki practitioner has been trained
and is attuned to serve as a channel for universal life energy.
Reiki healing is pure energy. When it is combined with a desire to
be healed, the recipient experiences a cleansing of their emotional
and spiritual consciousness. The energy or God-force is neutral.
Healing does not take place through the practitioner, but occurs
when the recipient can manifest harmony and balance in their life.
Reiki has been referred to as “healing hands.” The practitioner
places his hands over designated parts of the body during treatment.
Reiki can be applied as first-aid to particular parts of the body
that have sustained injury. Reiki is non-evasive. It requires no
special environment or equipment.
The Reiki practitioner directs “light energy” to the affected areas.
He can customize treatment to meet individual needs. During a Reiki
session, the practitioner acts as a clear channel through which the
healing energy flows.
Reiki does not interfere with traditional medical treatment, but can
facilitate their benefits. It is holistic. It can be used with (but
is not excluded to) chiropractic care, massage, yoga, and
meditation. It can be combined with proper diet and sufficient
exercise. Reiki has frequently been applied to support and
compliment traditional allopathic (mechanistic) medical treatment.
